Morocco Elected to the Executive Committee of the Digital Cooperation Organization.

The Kingdom of Morocco has been elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) during the 4th General Assembly of this organization, held on Wednesday at the Dead Sea, Jordan.

This election reflects Morocco’s ongoing commitment to developing the digital economy and adapting to technological advancements. The Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, expressed her satisfaction with this international recognition, highlighting the Kingdom’s efforts in artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, and information technology.

Recognition of Morocco’s Digital Leadership

The Minister emphasized Morocco’s expertise and accumulated experience in these strategic fields. This election will allow the country to strengthen its position within the DCO‘s decision-making body and actively contribute to shaping the organization’s policies and strategic directions. It also presents an opportunity for Morocco to foster digital cooperation and support innovation among member countries.

In addition to Morocco, the Sultanate of Oman, Cyprus, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan have been elected to the Executive Committee for 2025, with Jordan presiding over this session.

Innovative Solutions for Sustainable Digital Development

The 4th General Assembly of the DCO focused on exploring innovative solutions to overcome challenges hindering global and sustainable digital development. Discussions revolved around strategies to enhance digital cooperation and accelerate digital transformation among member states.

On the sidelines of the event, the Digital Cooperation Organization awarded Digital Prosperity prizes. Among the winners was Moroccan Abdellatif Belmkadem, President of the National Institute of Innovation and Advanced Technology, recognized for his outstanding contributions to digital innovation.

An Organization Dedicated to Digital Cooperation

Founded in 2020, the DCO aims to strengthen collaboration in entrepreneurship, innovation, business growth, and job creation in the digital economy. It includes several member countries, including Jordan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Bangladesh, Ghana, Pakistan, Cyprus, Djibouti, The Gambia, Greece, Nigeria, and Rwanda.

Morocco’s election to the DCO Executive Committee marks a new milestone in strengthening its role as a key player in global digital development.
