The partnership between Morocco and the World Bank was at the center of discussions between Nadia Fettah, Minister of Economy and Finance, and Ousmane Dione, Vice President of the World Bank for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, during a meeting held on Tuesday in Rabat.
This meeting provided an opportunity to examine the structural reforms undertaken by the Moroccan government under the High Royal Directives and to assess the progress of major projects related to social welfare, infrastructure, employment, renewable energy, and digital transition.
Ousmane Dione praised the strength of the cooperation between Morocco and the World Bank, congratulating the Kingdom on its significant progress. He also highlighted the shared ambition of both parties to collaborate in key areas such as employment, women’s inclusion, regionalization, and the development of sustainable policies.
The organization of the 2030 World Cup was another topic of discussion, emphasizing the optimization of infrastructure to maximize economic benefits and strengthen Morocco’s position on the international stage.
Nadia Fettah described this partnership as exemplary, emphasizing that this meeting allowed the World Bank delegation to appreciate the progress of ongoing projects. She particularly stressed the importance of water resource management, renewable energy, and the professional integration of young people and women.
She also highlighted the crucial role of the 2030 World Cup in attracting investments, especially in the private sector.
Since 1960, Morocco and the World Bank have maintained a privileged partnership, mobilizing more than 27.12 billion dollars to support various development projects across the Kingdom.
