Training and Industry: Ryad Mezzour Advocates for Better Alignment of Skills with Sector Needs.

The Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, called on Tuesday in Rabat for better alignment between youth training and the requirements of the national industrial fabric. This initiative is deemed essential to strengthen the sector’s competitiveness and support Morocco’s ambitions for industrial sovereignty.

A Commitment to Innovation and Employment

Speaking at a conference organized by the National School of Arts and Crafts (ENSAM) of Rabat, under the theme « The Development of Industry in Morocco and Key Skills to Integrate the Sector, » the minister highlighted the importance of sustained investment in new technologies. This approach aims to foster innovation, create added value, and generate new job opportunities.

A Strategy Rooted in the Royal Vision

Ryad Mezzour emphasized that this dynamic aligns with the strategy driven by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, which aims to transform the national economy by integrating demographic and educational challenges. He underscored Morocco’s ability to attract foreign investments, facilitated by free trade agreements that grant access to a market of over 2.6 billion consumers across a hundred countries.

Highlighting the country’s efforts to prepare a young, dynamic, and ambitious generation, the minister expressed his pride in seeing this youth ready to meet the Kingdom’s expectations.

Higher Education: A Lever for Adapting to Market Realities

The director of ENSAM Rabat, Samir Belfkih, highlighted the opportunity this event presents to strengthen ties between the academic world and industrial actors. He stressed the necessity of better preparing future engineers for the realities of the labor market.

« Our institutions must take into account the expectations and requirements of businesses in order to train engineers capable of meeting tomorrow’s challenges, » he stated.

He also emphasized the new skills required in the era of artificial intelligence and digital transformation: « Today, we are talking about a new model of engineer—an integrated professional capable of adapting to technological changes and market demands while putting their expertise at the service of the country’s development. »

An Ever-Evolving Industry

The discussions held during the conference highlighted the dynamism of Morocco’s industrial sector, driven by key industries such as automotive, aerospace, and renewable energy. However, participants also pointed out the challenges related to productivity and innovation, emphasizing the urgency of strengthening synergy between training institutions and businesses.

Bringing together students, teachers, and industry professionals, the event provided a platform for exchange, aiming to understand the sector’s expectations and initiate an in-depth reflection on training the skills of tomorrow.
