WayTech Expo 2025: Tangier Hosts the Technological Innovation Summit.

The city of Tangier launched the International Technology and Innovation Exhibition « WayTech Expo 2025 » on Wednesday. Held under the theme « Artificial Intelligence, a Gateway to a Digital and Sustainable Future, » this major event illustrates Morocco’s commitment to digital transformation.

A Large-Scale Collaborative Initiative

This event results from fruitful collaboration between the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and Abdelmalek Essaâdi University. The event is part of the International Congress dedicated to intelligent systems applied to sustainable development, with a particular focus on digital health.

The opening ceremony brought together leading figures, notably Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Commerce, Abdelatif Afailal, President of the Regional Chamber of Commerce, and Bouchta El Moumni, President of Abdelmalek Essaâdi University, accompanied by representatives from various ministerial departments.

An Innovation Ecosystem in Action

The exhibition presents a dynamic display space where startups and technology companies unveil their innovations. This platform fosters synergies between different ecosystem players: entrepreneurs, researchers, public decision-makers, and investors.

AI Serving Economic Competitiveness

In his address, Minister Ryad Mezzour emphasized the alignment of this initiative with the fundamental missions of chambers of commerce regarding territorial economic development. He particularly stressed the strategic role of artificial intelligence in modernizing industrial sectors, noting that Morocco already possesses the necessary human expertise to support this transformation.

According to the minister, AI adoption represents a major lever for optimizing productivity, preserving employment, and developing national productive capacities.

A Strategic Academic-Economic Partnership

Abdelatif Afailal highlighted the partnership dimension of the event, resulting from cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Abdelmalek Essaâdi University. This alliance aims to create lasting bridges between economic and academic spheres, fully aligning with the « Digital Morocco 2030 » strategy.

University President Bouchta El Moumni detailed his institution’s commitment to digital transformation through the integration of advanced technological tools in teaching, training, and research. He considers that the AI debates organized during this exhibition contribute to a better understanding of current technological transformations.

A Rich and Diverse Program

Until May 23, the event offers an intensive calendar of conferences exploring practical applications of artificial intelligence in key sectors such as energy, health, agriculture, industry, and education. Discussions will also address crucial issues such as digital governance, technological sovereignty, and ethical considerations related to the rapid evolution of emerging technologies.

This 2025 edition of WayTech Expo confirms Morocco’s position as a regional hub for technological innovation and demonstrates its determination to accelerate its transition toward the digital economy.
